Former HELLOWEEN Drummer Receives Clean Bill Of Health

October 1, 2003

Former HELLOWEEN/METALIUM drummer Mark Cross has received a clean bill of health from his doctor a year after he was forced to bow out of HELLOWEEN as a result of being struck by the malicious (EBV) Epstein-Barr virus (also known as mononucleosis).

According to a post on Cross' web site, Mark's physician has confirmed that the virus lies in the past and [Cross'] physical condition is back to 100%!"

Says Mark: "The past 12 months of carrying this heavy load of fear, coping with the pressure of not knowing when to be healthy again, were definitely the most difficult days and months of my life! I'm happy and very grateful that it's finally all over, to get my career and life back together.

"I lost a good job and opportunity with HELLOWEEN this year, but it's certainly not the end of the world. Now that I found my confidence again and am able to look in one's eyes again... I will kick your ass, hahaha!!! I've missed being on stage and on the road.

"It's 5pm and I just got back from Plymouth. In a couple of hours I'll go to the local pub with my friends, get a few pints of John Smith, get bladdered, celebrate and wash away the past year, cheers! Tomorrow I'll fly to Greece and terrorize the rock'n roll circuit in Athens a bit, before I'll probably head to the States late October."
